As the network communication technology develop rapidly, the performance of network transmission, the safety and reliability of the network is becoming higher and higher. Accessing resources online has been a mainstream trend. In this paper, the design provides users a solution which users can get hardware devices on the network service platform, considering working in real time and controlling remote hardware.The service platform for hardware based on WCF communication solves the problem which users cannot remote access to the internal hardware resources. It connects hardware to the internet by using the corresponding interface and provides network terminal user with the virtual device interface. Users at the remote location can power up, power cut, restart, load application, and observe the execution of application through output interface and the debugging method. This platform is composed of the device equipment management, the server-side of the device and the client. The hardware equipment management side has the main job of managing the hardware device. It is responsible for dealing with the real hardware device. Hardware device includes serial port and network card. All of hardware devices are centralized in the same local area network(LAN) whose parameter will be set by the hardware equipment management side. Serial port will be managed by the dedicated serial device server. The server-side is regard as data management center and communication control center. It uses the WCF communication technology, WEB SERVICE technology and ASP.NET technology. A secure connection between the client and the device management-side is established by using WCF technology. The server-side also provides database operation interface to update users and hardware information to the database by using WEB SERVICE technology. Moreover, it uses ASP.NET technology to manage users and hardware information in web page format. The client-side controls and uses remote hardware devices. They will go through hardware server-side, device management side and hardware side while control signals are sent to the actual device. WCF has efficient and reliable data transmission performance which is short for Windows communication foundation, to ensure security and real-time performance of device information on the transmission link. This paper uses WCF technology as communication method between the user and the device platform. It not only can improve the efficiency of software development, but also manage device reliably.This paper also tests and analyzes the function of the hardware service platform. The client-side tests the applied serial port and network card by using serial debugging assistant and TCP/UDP communication assistant. This paper writes some WCF test functions to verify the performance of WCF. In total, testing project is an effective evaluation method on the quality. Besides, in order to run on the different system, which is not only general operating system such as Windows, but also other platform such as Linux, this article makes a cross-platform research about managing hardware devices. It helps lay a good foundation for promotion of equipment management platform.
