In the past few years, the development of information and communication technology enhanced the quality of health care system. A wireless body area network(WBAN) is used to monitor human physiological values remotely through some small, low-power biosensors, which enables physicians to remotely monitor the health of patients. The WBAN transmits the body physiological data via the wireless channel, and because of the importance of the physiological data, the secure communication of data in WBAN is crucial. The key management is the main factor that affects the security of encryption scheme, so it is the primary task of wireless body area network security, as well as identity authentication. However, the resource constrained biosensor makes it a very challenging task for key management. The existing key management strategies based on cryptography cannot be competent for requirement of high safety and low energy consumption in WBANs largely due to public key-based protocols is always be computationally expensive, and authentication cannot be effectively provided. In this thesis, biological safety is combined with physical layer security to achieve secure key distribution and authentication in the background of WBAN. The details are as follows:The biological key agreement method based on the ECG feature is studied. Firstly, the key agreement based on Fuzzy extractor is studied, and the adaptive Inter Pulse Interval(IPI) quantization method is present that effectively improving the accuracy of identity authentication in the key agreement. Secondly, the key agreement based on Fuzzy vault is studied, and the index of the ECG feature is used for improving the method result in reducing the communication overhead and energy costs in key agreement. Finally, the effectiveness of the scheme is verified by experiments.A hierarchical key agreement scheme for WBANs through combination of biometric key and wireless channel key is proposed. Firstly, a classical wireless channel key agreement method is studied, then an artificial enhancement of the wireless channel is made so that even in the static wireless channel fast key rate and high randomness can guarantee. Secondly, a lightweight hierarchical key agreement scheme of WBAN is realized through the combination of biometric key and wireless channel key. Finally, the effectiveness of the scheme is verified by experiments.
