With the combination of network and daily life increasingly close, the scale and type of user traffic are also increasing, and the requirements of users have also been complicated. In this environment, how to meet the QoS requirements while maximum the efficiency of network resources is becoming an important goal of network management. However, existing mechanisms are limited by tightly coupling of network control and data forwarding in traditional architecture. Therefore, the existing solution of network flow control can not take the QoS guarantee and improving network resource utilization into account at the same time.Then, researchers begin to study the next-generation network architectures. As a representative, SDN architecture with its advantages of centralized control has brought new possibilities for us to solve the above problems. On the one hand, the controller can collect status of whole network to allocate resources according to the needs of the business; On the other hand, the controller can manage all forwarding devices flexibly. Thus, this thesis focuses on the problems of controlling the resources under the SDN network architecture and based on the theory of network slices, the main work includes the following aspects:(1)Propose a model of resource control based on slices. The resources are divided into several slices, each one is treated as the object of resource allocation and control, which is help to guarantee the QoS requirements and can also improve the the utilization of resources.(2)Propose application-oriented method of slice division. Each slice is bulit in advance to guarantee the QoS requirements of users, at the same time, considering maximize the utilization of network resources, more transportable paths are needed to be found. Finally the multi-queue port feature of OpenFlow switch are adapted to deploy results of the network slices to OpenFlow switches.(3)Propose a mechanism of traffic scheduling based on the network status. Based on the result of network slices and the real-time network load, the two-level scheduling mechanism are designed, selecting the best route for the network traffic to reach the goal of maximizing the utilization of network resources.In summary, the thesis studies on the mechanism of network resource control in-depth and proposes a method of allocating network resources based on the network slices in the architecture of SDN. Also, the experimental platform about the mechanism is conducted. Through a series of simulation and experiments, the validation results show that this thesis can achieve flexible control of resources to meet requirements of different users and improve the utilization of network resources, which is help to realize network management.
