Hard disk drive (HDD), the excellent vibration isolation performance improvement of which will enhance the function of the whole machine, plays a critical important role on laptop, Subminiature air spring using air as a medium, with the advantage of hard nonlinear characteristics, can effectively limit the vibration amplitude. Based on the research of subminiature air spring stiffness characteristics, this paper is aimed at designing appropriate structure of subminiature air spring through the anti-vibration and impact theory to analyze and calculate the isolation stiffness of the HDD system. Combine with the finite element analysis, sample is made and carried out the test to verify the vibration isolation requirement.The study subject is a sample computer from a PC company. The specific content of the job is as follows:1. Analysis of vibration form is carried out on notebook computer's HDD to identify the main vibration mode to provide the basis for the calculation of isolation. According to the vibration testing criterion provided by PC Company, sample PC is respectively subjected to prop palm area test and shock test. By spectrum of Vibration Test for prop palm area in the measuring point, it is obvious that the palm area vibration is contributed largely by HDD vibration. In addition, through impact testing, impact resistance of the system can be grasped, which provide the basis for follow-up impact isolation.2. Not only the traditional theoretical analysis is used on HDD vibration isolation computation, but also the impact theory is adopted to impact isolation stiffness calculation. By simplifying the hard disk model, the definition of shock spectrum is employed to derivate the expression of shock spectrum. In accordance with the impact of spectrum, impact stiffness will be obtained, which is the design reference stiffness of subminiature air spring3. By means of the analysis of air spring stiffness characteristics, stiffness expression of subminiature air spring analysis can be got. After that, the preliminary design of subminiature air spring structure and the installation location will be correspondingly set up.4. Nonlinear finite element software ABAQUS is used for the establishment of gas-solid coupling model of the air spring, whose correctness is verified by the stiffness results of the theoretical derivation calculations. On this basis, the vertical stiffness characteristics of subminiature air spring is analyzed by different initial pressure and the thickness of its different balloon5. To manufacture the subminiature air spring sample by the design dimension. By comparison with the result of vibration test before and after adding the sample into sample notebook, the improvement of the vibration will be validated.
