As the development of of information technology,Researching and designing the self-control microprocessor is significant. FT-MX processor is a high-performance low-power 32-bit multi-cores DSP which is designed by Microelectronics, National University of Defense Technology. The processor is designed by the VLIW architecture with 16/32-bit variable-length instruction set, supports the eleven or vector instructions issuing in every clock cycle. Because of the amount of the instructions issuing in one cycle and the variable-length instruction set, the design and implement of dispatch unit is difficult. With the scale and complexity of Integrated Circuits increase gradually, the verification of Integrated Circuits has been becoming more and more difficult, the research of verification method has become the key point in the study for the gaps between complexity of the Integrated Circuits and the verification ability, has got more attraction.Based on the research of the FT-MX processor, The main work of this article is as follows:1) Analyzing the classics programme of digital signal apply and the simulating result of the example DSP program of TI, the instruction set of FT-MX is been designed and optimized, valuing the performance of the instruction.2) Based on the VLIW architecture and the instruction set of FT-MX, designing the high-efficiency dispatch unit and valuing the performance of the dispatch unit.3) Summarizing the functional point of the instruction control path, building the System level function verification platform, valuing the result of the simulating verification; using the equivalence checking verification to the instruction, combining the equivalence checking and the assert to build the equivalence checking verification platform and the golden model, increasing the reliability of the verification, comparing the two kinds of the way to verification, providing the theory and the practice experience in the verification in Integrated Circuits.
