Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine(DICOM) is a standard for handling, storing, printing, and transmitting information in medical imaging. It includes a file format definition and a network communications protocol. The image by general imaging equipment acquisition does not satisfy the requirement of medical image, needed to convert ordinary image formats to DICOM medical image format.In this paper, based on needed of the project in the ophthalmic imaging equipment, research relevant technology on DICOM image real-time acquisition and remote transmission. Main work of this paper is as follows:1. Analysis the basic content of Medical Digital Imaging and Communication, form three angles(history of DICOM standard, specific content and file format) to analyze DICOM standard,to comprehensive understanding DICOM files and its transfer protocol.2. Study DICOM image real-time access technology.form the perspective of the data elements while contained by DICOM file, to establish electronic medical record database that based on the relationship and according to the project need to innovate the WIFI wireless data transmission technology proposed for wireless image acquisition.On that basis, to complete acquisition about text imformation and pixels information of DICOM files required, to transform image of real-time acquisition conforms to the standard of DICOM medical image.3. Research on image compression technology and DICOM network communication technology, lay foundations for remote medical. Based on study lifting wavelet transform and SPIHT coding algorithm to complete image compression and further complete DICOM image compression. Experiment proved to be able to get high compression ratio(compression ratio for 30) at the same time guarantee the quality of the image(PNSR is greater than 30). Based on the research of the DICOM communication model, have a comprehensive understanding about the DICOM communication principle and DICOM data transmission process.4. Implementation system of DICOM image real-time acquisition and remote transmission, through the C language to complete the WIFI image acquisition under a machine program, through the SQL database to complete the establishment of the electronic medical records, through the C# language to complete the WIFI image acquisition PC program implementation. Through the fo-dicom library to complete the DICOM image real-time conversion, through the establishment of C_STORE class complete remote transmission dicom image files in the local area network.
