With the rapid development of automobile technology and economy, China has become a big country of automobile which result car ownership increased year by year,but the frequency of traffic accidents increased along with the trend. According to the statistics of the traffic control department, in every minute, one person was injured because traffic accident happened. At the same time, the number of traffic accidents and casualties rate showed a significant upward trend. The person who is in violation of the traffic regulations and the drivers have careless and bad driving habits is one of the main causes of traffic accidents. Especially in the driving environment with low light, the driver can not fully understand the driving environment. When some pedestrians appeared at the vehicle driving route and vehicle speed is high, the driver won’t have a chance to react and cause traffic accident.In the face of such problems, automobile enterprises and university researchers have put forward a lot of methods to solve this problem to improve vehicle safety and avoid traffic accidents. The night vision driver assistance system is studied. In view of research on Modern Driver assistance system still needs to be further, and the related technologies remain to be mature, the products have to be popularized. The purpose of this paper is based on the combination of scientific research depth and engineering practice, the core warning function of vehicle active safety technology is explored.Finished the night vision auxiliary system design based on thermal imaging technology.Infrared images collected by thermal imaging technology in traffic environment. Image preprocessing and pedestrian recognition based on infrared image to help drivers better respond to various emergencies in the process of driving. The main research contents of this paper include the following points:(1) Firstly, According to the basic requirements of night vision auxiliary system,The imaging system design of night vision assistant system based on thermal imaging technology is completed. The components of the imaging system are introduced in detail. The hardware and circuit design of each part are given.(2) In this paper, the image processing method of night vision driving system based on thermal imaging technology is studied, the median filter is used to denoise the image data, and Histogram equalization algorithm is used to enhance image data,The Otsu segmentation method based on genetic algorithm is used to deal with theimage, and then extract the region of interest in the image.(3) This paper studies the pedestrian detection method of night vision driving system based on thermal imaging technology. In view of the advantages and disadvantages of the pedestrian detection method, and content the requirements of real-time and accuracy of the system. The pedestrian detection method used in the intelligent vehicle night vision system is Designed.(4) After completing the design of night vision assistant system based on thermal imaging technology, the system was debuged and the experiments of pedestrian detection was done in a given direction and in a given environment. Experimental results show that the system can be clearly imaged in a poor light environment, better identify the pedestrians in the image, meet the basic requirements of the vehicle.
