The barcode has been widely used in the retail industry, inventory management, medical, logistics and other fields with the rapid development of information technology. However, the limited capacity of one-dimensional prevents it from being further used. The density and capacity of two-dimensional barcode are higher. It can not only store items code, but also store description. At the same time, the error correction code word can be added to two-dimensional barcode in the encoded data, and then encrypts to improve reading reliability and safety information. With the advent of the era of Big Data, two-dimensional barcode storage capacity enough to store a single data structure, poor confidentiality, security and anti-copy weaker defects difficult to meet the development needs of the times and the industry.We have proposed a multi-dimensional code design base on two-dimensional code in this thesis. We need to improve the graph structure of barcode and increase the proportion of information presentation module and use color modules express information to improve the information density of multi-dimensional code. The data storage area of multi-dimensional code is divided into zones of high reliability and fault tolerance zone. High reliability region use the black and white modules express information to guarantee the reading efficiency and reliability. And fault-tolerant area with color module to present information to improve information density and storage capacity. This thesis defines the coding mode of text, images, voice, video and other data to ensure the diversity of multi-dimensional code to store data, and specially design the code mode of face, fingerprint, iris and other biometric information. It makes multi-dimensional code store the variety of biometric fusion to avoid simple replications with the binding of barcode and the individual. High data reliability and fault tolerance zone area using different algorithms for encryption to improve security after the data encoding.This thesis designs the corresponding algorithm reading based on the above theory. It focuses on the image preprocessing algorithm to solve multi-dimensional code image color distortion and geometric distortion problems. In order to promote the multi-dimensional codes to be applied in the future mobile Internet, we have designed a reading system of multi-dimensional code based on the Android platform and achieve the correlation algorithm. Finally, this thesis verifies the scientific and rationality of the reading system through the test result.
