Design And Implementation Of Literature Management System Based On Google Scholar

In recent years,with the growing requirements,many literature management systems come into being.Now,the mainstream literature management systems include EndNote,Mendeley,Zotero,Reference Manager,NoteFirst and NoteExpress,etc.All of these systems have their own advantages,satisfying different management requirements.However,all of those systems either have too many functions that ordinary users are confused when using them,or are in charge with a much function-limited free version,or only have offline version,which make it difficult to access the literature database whenever and wherever.Therefore,this paper designs and implements a free online literature management system based on the widely used literature search engine "Google Scholar".This system not only contains the essential literature management functions,but also adds some new functions to improve the users’ experience.This paper first conducts a survey on the state-of-art of the literature management technics,concludes the mainstream management systems,and analyzes the features and their applicable scenarios of those systems.Then,this paper designs a new literature management system based on Google Scholar,and adds new functions such as the literature analysis function,literature translation function and the literature vocalization function,which improving the users’ experience.Finally,this paper conducts adequate tests on the designed literature management system.Test results show that,the system designed in this paper can run steadily and has implemented all of the functions designed.The new added literature analysis function can search literatures according to their types(including the foundation literature,literature review,top literature and extensive literature etc.);the new added literature translation function can translate the sentence or paragraph directly without copying them into the specific translation tool;the new added literature vocalization function can turn the words in the literature into audio file which can be used to read the literature especially when the user has been working for a so long time that their eyes need some rest.In a word,all of the new added functions can improve the users’ experience,and the score mechanism adopted in this system can also encourage the users to make contribution to the system,maximizing the power of crowd intelligence.
