Augmented Reality(AR)represents a class of technologies which make virtual objects incorporate into the real world.With development of technology and the progress of the times,people want to get a new human-computer interaction experience which is more natural.Due to the rapid development of hardware,it becomes a reality that processing image in real time.This technology can be applied to different field.In the navigation field,it makes indoor navigation visualization and updates the experience of navigation.In the field of rail transport,it is convenient for locomotive maintenance by using AR.Mobile phones and other mobile devices is becoming an integral part in our daily life.However,it has to face the limited calculated performance,memory space and other restrictions when implements an AR system in mobile devices.These limitations cause problems about the system delay,and the inaccurate 3D registration.The main work of this paper is summarized as following three aspects:(1)Considering the limited computational performance and memory capacity of mobile devices,an algorithm that can quickly identify the feature of extracting realistic scenes has to be studied.The algorithm requires a low computational complexity and needs less memory.By comparing the several feature recognition algorithms which are proposed in recent years,a feature recognition algorithm for mobile devices based on ORB(oriented FAST and rotated BRIEF)algorithm is presented in this paper.This algorithm,which refines feature matches and reduces the error matches,satisfies the design requirements of marker-less augmented reality system.(2)In order to realize the accurate 3D registration of virtual objects,the calculation process of homography matrix is improved in this paper,and a new 3D registration mothed based on it is proposed.It is verified by the experiment that the method improves the accuracy of registration considering the real-time requirements of AR system on mobile devices.(3)An indoor navigation augmented reality system on mobile devices is implemented.It adopts the Unity3D engine and utilizes the characteristic of the engine,which can publish multi-platform applications.The paper studies the mechanism of the engine and C++,realizes the design and development of the system making full use of the efficiency of language and the convenience provided by the engine.In this paper,the proposed algorithm is tested,and the experimental results show that the design of the marker-less augment reality system meets the requirements which is low delay and high accuracy.At the same time,the actual test of the indoor navigation system based on the mobile device which is designed achieves satisfied result.
