With the rapid development of science and technology,cameras appear frequently in every aspect of our lives,and the video tracking technology based on cameras has gotten more attention.Intelligent monitoring,intelligent transportation and other fields based on video tracking continuously meet our pursuit about the secure and intelligent life.The single-camera can not track the target sustained and reliable because of the limited field of vision,occlusion and other issues,and multi-camera tracking can solve this problem perfectly by good collaboration between cameras,so it has gradually become a hot point of research.The multi-camera video tracking system completes the accurate and continuous tracking of the target through video acquisition,target detection,single camera tracking and multi-camera cooperative tracking.Under the premise that the overlapped regions of multiple cameras have been calibrated,the system firstly tracks the target by single camera and then track the targets going through two cameras by the multi-camera cooperative tracking with target matching and handover technology.So as to get the target locating when the target is occluded in the overlapping area and to track the target continuously when it enters the visual field of another camera to obtain the trajectory of the target.The multi-camera target tracking system researched and designed in this paper has been deployed as an experimental system in the laboratory.Multi-camera target tracking system uses several classic algorithms,using DirectShow to input the images of multi-camera,using GMM(Gaussian Mixture Model)target detection algorithm to achieve the goal of fast and accurate detection and accurate tracking of the target,while using the SURF(Speeded Up Robust Features)feature matching algorithm to achieve the goal of multi-camera target matching and handover.Through the improvement and fusion of these classic algorithms,we can accurately track the target under multi-cameras.The experimental results show that the system can automatically detect and accurately track the target appearing in the camera,and it can achieve the goal of target matching and continuous tracking of the target when the target goes from one camera field to another.
