With the rapid development of economic,the traffic infrastructure construction has been strengthened,and highway reconstruction changes are continuously expanding.More and more staff is required in high-speed toll station,whereas the labor costs increase year by year,this lead to highway operation cost is higher and higher.In order to reduce the operating costs of the highway,we put forward the unmanned automatic charging system,which can not only reduce the operation cost of expressway,but also resolve the charges vulnerability and prevent cheating the space for toll station of scientific management and guarantee the quality of service.In this Thesis,a new type of automatic highway unattended self-service charge pattern has been Designed.That is.the vehicles classification and license plate recognition along with automatic card would be automatically performed.Simultaneously,the vehicles classification and license plate recognition also would be automatically performed when the vehicle enters the exit lane,and the driver handed over the card to complete fees transaction according to prompt.Moreover,the unattended self-service charge traffic lane can be mixed with the existing entrance and exit lanes;also the unattended self-lane can also be separated.In order to increase the utilization of lanes,multiple sets of self-service credit card applications and self-service charging equipment can be set up.The remarkable characteristic of the system is making full use of modern scientific and technological means,in conjunction with bank ATM self-access,and maximizing the driver’s self-help at the toll lanes,greatly reducing the fees of the operating costs,and increase the charges at the prevailing efficiency.This unattended self-service charging system,developed with VC language in the WINDOWS platform,and using SQL server 2008 database to solve the problem of data storage,is suitable for all involved self charging places,especially for highway toll station.The system core equipment is the self-service toll collector and the self-service sending the card machine.In which,the self-service toll collector is the origination in domestic,the passengers can help themselves put the toll in cash machine,and the cash register carries out automatic counting,sorting,automatic identification of counterfeit money,automatically records every car payment money bills,and the auto-cycle according to the toll to give change.The nominal value RMB 100,50,20,10 and 5 can be used.Entrance automatic card machine can simulate human self-service recovering the pass.The unattended charging systems can not only reduce toll and construction initial period toll station necessary operation expense investment,but also can eliminate human error and deliberately cheating caused by manual vehicle classification,license plate recognition and artificial charge etc.In addition,the unattended charging systems not only can achieve the effect of whole life cycle integrated operation cost greatly reduced,and can effectively solve the problem of traffic jams,improve work efficiency,convenience of toll station scientific management and ensure the quality of service,significant economic and social benefits.The system of the King’s highway is at present stable by debugging.
