In recent years,with the development of semiconductor technology,the performance of monolithic power amplifier has been improved obviously.However,in millimeter wave band,the output of single power amplifier still cannot satisfy the requirement of the system,so the high power solid state combiner based on monolithic integrated circuit power amplifier has become a focus of the millimeter wave study.The mainly achievements are described as below:1 Two types of broadband rectangular waveguide-circular waveguide 01 TE mode converters are proposed in this paper.The first broadband converter is named marine-flower type converter.This circuit has the advantages of broadband and small size.The simulation results show that marine-flower type converter has a reflection coefficient better than-20 dB and low-order modes suppression better than 30 d B in30-40 GHz.The second broadband converter is named improved flower type converter.This structure is fabricated easily.The simulation results show that improved flower type converter has a reflection coefficient better than-20 dB and low-order modes suppression better than 40 dB in 30.5-39.5GHz.2 Two 16 way radial power combiners based on ?/ 2 sectoral waveguide and ?/ 4 sectoral waveguide are presented for the first time.Comparing with traditional circular waveguide radial combiners,those structures can not only significantly reduce the size and the loss of the power combiner but also can solve inconsistency of amplitude/ phase between input-ports.3 A broad-band millimeter-wave(26.5-40GHz)power combiner based on Y-junction waveguide with good port matching and isolation is presented by the first time.An E-plan lossy planar transmission line is used to obtain broadband combining performance with good port matching and isolation.This structure has the advantages of easy processing and installation.The test results show that the waveguide-based power combiner using E-plan lossy planar transmission line has a reflection coefficient better than-12 dB and isolation better than –18dB in full Ka band(26.5–40 GHz).4 A 30 way radial power combiner with an H-plan lossy planar transmission line is presented in this letter.This structure has the advantages of low loss,good port matching and good isolation.The waveguide-based power combiner can be used in a multi-way power amplifying–combining system to obtain millimeter-wave broadband miniaturized solid-state high power with high efficiency and good stability.The simulation results show that the branch waveguides of the radial power combiner has a reflection coefficient better than-15 dB and isolation better than –17dB.
