With the pace of life and changes in human needs, it is hard to imagine what the modern world without media is like. In human life, the media in the past half-century has a very special significance, and today’s media is one of the most important areas in the life of people all over the world. Especially the invention of multimedia devices can be called a veritable revolution in technological progress and has become a necessity of modern society. As a daily use of information tools, it is almost integrated into the lives of everyone, especially international students, being as a thing, which is impossible to do without. This is a multifunctional gadget that allows a person to use all the modern technologies. As a mobile media consumer groups,students have their own unique behavior and psychology. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct in-depth and systematic study and discussion.On the basis of systematic review the related research, using "uses and gratifications" theory as the starting point of the research, establishes the research direction and solutions.The purpose of choosing the media information is to meet the needs of the individual.In this case, the behavior is almost always subject to a specific purpose, and the choice depends on the expected motivation and needs. For the uses and gratification theory, it is to solve the media consumption motives and other issues.This paper selects the Huazhong Agricultural University in Wuhan city, Hubei province,as the research site, through the way of questionnaire and in-depth interview, to investigation and discussion foreign students’ basic features of mobile using, usage requirements and satisfaction, and deep analysis of the influencing factors.The study found that, for the foreign students, the using frequency of traditional function is declining, the using frequency of network applications is increasing. Many foreign students have a strong dependence on the use of smart phones, and this dependence tends to occur in the use of social networks, the use of the translator, etc. This paper links the basic use of mobile media, functions, and information, news information and social life, and other content, with the requirements of foreign students to conduct research in order to find out the answer.This paper analyzes the main factors that affect the use of mobile media from three aspects: individual differences, social environment and media conditions. This paper argues that on the one hand, the use of the media is affected by individual differences, such as age, education level, income and so on; on the other hand, the use of the media under the influence of social environment, such as social status, professional differences, interpersonal relationships, etc. In addition, the use of the media will be affected by media conditions, such as hardware, software and so on.This paper argues that to improve the quality of the use of mobile media for foreign students, it is necessary to improve the external media environment, increase the use of new media technology, and strengthen contact and communication between users and audiences. Therefore, through the study of the uses and gratification of mobile media, we can provide some reference data and guidance for future exploration.
