Vigilance refers to the alertness to objective things,including the concentration of attention and the capability to response emergencies.Human’s physical work is decreasing and machinery work is increasing with the development of computer technology.Thus,the decrement of vigilance is a much more contributed factor for fault in work than physical or mental fatigue,especially in precision operation of medical workers,aerospace operators and the alike.Therefore,to explore the rule of vigilance variation,to establish an effective vigilance detection system,and to further take effective measures to maintain or improve vigilance are of great importance.Based on traditional Mackworth Clock Test(MCT),this paper designed a new MCT vigilance task.We extracted EEG,ECG,PPG and EDA signals during the whole task.Combined with behavioral results,we analyzed the vigilance variations during the task.A vigilance regression model was built by selecting the high contribution EEG leads and the multiplex physiological signal features.A binaural beat acoustic stimulus of Beta frequency was exerted after the vigilance decreased.By inducing brain wave entrainment effect we could achieve improving vigilance.In addition,vigilance variation under inattention was studied by inserting Mis-Match Negativity(MMN)task.We could get several results below: MCT vigilance task could be used as an effective model to induce vigilance decrement.A vigilance prediction regress model,of which the goodness of fit could reach 0.885,was built by incorporating EEG,ECG,PPG and EDA features.By exerting Beta band binaural beat,the power spectrum of EEG Beta band increased in a short time.Meanwhile,the task accuracy increased and reaction time decreased.This indicates that Beta band binaural beat can activate brain activity in a certain time.However,the continuity effect of binaural beat was not so good.And vigilance showed an upswing after the stimulus was removed.In addition,unattended vigilance showed a much more obvious but still consistent tendency with the attended vigilance variation.In conclusion,the paper studied a vigilance model and the effects of Beta band binaural beat to improve vigilance.Thus it lays a foundation for a much more fast and effective method of detecting and improving vigilance.
