The Research Of Current Situation And Development Tendency Of The Machine News Writing

In the new media era,the Internet of Things,big data,cloud computing,artificial intelligence and other technical forces gradually penetrate into all areas of journalism.Machine news writing as a product of integration of the artificial intelligence technology and journalism,its emergence has changed the traditional way of news content production,and achieved the fully automated production of news content.News writing machine originated in the United States.The Associated Press,《New York Times 》 and other large foreign media organizations have more mature development in using this technology.In the recent two years,the domestic media has already begun to use the machine news writing to write news articles.The domestic machine news writing process which is represented by Xinhua News Agency’s “Fast Writing Xiaoxin” and Tencent news’ “Dreamwriter” also developed more quickly.The innovation of news content production mode has brought a profound impact on the future development of journalism,but it also reveals some limitations in its using process.Based on the practicing of machine news writing and the existing research,I defines the definition of machine news writing and discusses the process and characteristics of the manuscripts.In this paper,I am focused on teasing out the using situation of machine news writing in current domestic and overseas news industry,and emphatically introduce several machine news writing processes which have more mature development.In addition,I analyze the difference between the machine news and the artificial news from the title,the subject,the lead and the background information,thereby to find out the limitation of the machine news writing.In the last part of the paper,I discuss the influence and the development tendency of the machine news writing.I believe that machine news writing has broadly prospects in the future,and the “man-machine coordination” mode will be formed gradually.
