In this study,the CCD camera with CG300 image acquisition card or USB is used as the sensing element.In the process of spiral pipe submerged arc welding,the real-time image of the weld back temperature field is send to host computer,and the host computer use Visual Basic procedures to identify the real time image of the seam and its both sides temperature field area.Because of the same parent metal welding,both sides of the welding seam have the same thermal conductivity,so we can judge the area size of both sides of the temperature field,to estimate whether the welding torch deviate welding seam center.After image processing,host computer sends the information about the direction of welding torch deviation through the free port communication protocol to the lower computer control actuator.The lower computer uses PLC as motion controller.In the welding process,the welding torch moving direction are adjusted in real time according to the accepted information.Meantime,the system can correct the deviation between welding torch and welding seam,ensure that the deviation is less than 1mm,and achieve the precision requirement of welding seam automatic tracking in the spiral pipe welding.In this study,three methods are designed to obtain the temperature field image,including CCD camera shoot real time welding process and record temperature field image,USB camera shoot real time welding process and record temperature field image,and simulation program that is used in laboratory to play welding process image.The simulation method of laboratory research can reduce the previous research and later debugging program rely on the actual production process,and shorten the research period.The difficult of this research is the real time identification algorithm about the seam and its both sides temperature field in the inside welding process of the Spiral pipe submerged arc welding.In order to identify fast and accurately,and meet the requirements of strong anti-interference ability,it need to abandon the traditional image processing functions,such as the Set Pixel function,Point function.And adopt the DIB function that has fast processing speed.A variety of algorithm combination methods are used to identify the welding seam and its both sides temperature field.After the edge of the welding seam and its both sides temperature field is identified,making projection processing of the area.And determine thearea difference between both sides of the temperature field,so as to judge whether the welding torch deviate welding seam center.The design of hardware system,which use the CPU214 as it base.And software system is based on the image processing algorithm.The host computer sends real-time information to the lower computer through the free port communication protocol,which is defined by users in VB software system.To achieve the purpose of correcting deviation in real time,after data reduction and analysis,the control of the execution mechanism movement should be completed.The designed system is verified in the welding teaching experiment.
