In recent years,with the rapid development of electronic communication technology,Due to the narrow frequency band,low gain,large volume and poor performance,the application range of the conventional microwave antenna is limited,the structure of artificial electromagnetic is an effective way to improve this kind of problems.The electromagnetic band gap(Electromagnetic Band-gap,EBG)in the structure of artificial electromagnetic materials is the most prominent in this type of structure,In this paper,the electromagnetic band gap structure theory is used to analyze the characteristics of the band gap structure and the reflection phase,and several kinds of electromagnetic band gap structures are designed,at the same time,the design of electromagnetic band gap structure is applied to Bowtie antenna,waveguide slot antenna and microstrip antenna.First,In this paper,the structure of mushroom-like EBG is analyzed,and its equivalent circuit model is obtained.Different methods are used to analyze and compare the reflection phase characteristics,surface wave characteristics and band gap characteristics of the EBG structure,at the same time,the influence of different structural parameters on the structural characteristics of EBG is studied.Then,based on the above research on the electromagnetic band gap structure,two kinds of EBG structural units are designed,and the band gap characteristics of two kinds of EBG structures are analyzed.Two kinds of antennas are designed,which are based on the common microstrip antenna and the Bowtie antenna,the antenna radiation performance has been significantly improved,and effectively suppress the propagation of surface waves,the gain of the antenna,with a relatively wide range are improved.The Bowtie antenna is omni directio nal antenna,therefore,its bandwidth,gain and other related characteristics are poor,this paper will change it to Bowtie directional antenna,the echo coefficient and better gain about 2.6d B.If the designed EBG structure is loaded into it,the bandwidth of the Bowtie antenna will be increased by 5%,and the gain will be increased by about 5d B.Compared to the rectangular waveguide slot antenna,the asymmetric ridge waveguide slot antenna is only 46% of the size,and the relative bandwidth and gain are better than the latter.After the composite EBG structure is loaded,the gain of the two kinds of antennas is only about 0.14 dB,but the relative bandwidth is increased by about 50%,and has a good radiation pattern...
