Multidimensional ROADM can be used widely as a typical DWDM equipment with the development of the market situation,especially in the application of the metropolitan area network,it has aroused the concern of the industry once again.Therefore,it is an inevitable trend that how to develop a kind of high efficient,flexible,stable and low cost multidimensional ROADM in the next period of time.For DWDM systems,using the back-to-back DWDM transmission structure with 3R regeneration function basically,but this structure uses a lot of OTU.Therefore,pre-construction and ongoing maintenance costs are relatively high,poor network flexibility,more OEO conversions,high system failure rate,so it can not meet the demand of the development of automatic switched transport network in the future.If introduced multidimensional ROADM system in the ULH system,these problems can be done or easily solved smoothly.But for the metropolitan area network,the transmission distance is not very long generally,a small number of electrical relay,pay attention to the node,rather than the line.Then the cost of the business up and down is very important.Therefore,the metro WDM introduced multidimensional ROADM system,so that we can have a choice to up and down desired wavelength.Multidimensional ROADM avoid the traditional OEO conversion,in the optical domain,directly realization of function of electrical plug multiplexer in the time domain;In addition multidimensional ROADM has low insertion loss,can improve the network capacity of optical networks greatly.It can be said,multidimensional ROADM has made WDM system from the initial point-to-point connections develop into a multi point to multi point connection,it makes the application of DWDM system is more flexible and convenient,reduce network construction cost greatly,eventually become the indispensable key equipment of future optical network.However,the multidimensional ROADM in the application process,due to the large number of nodes join and delete operations,and some optical devices in the network to the wavelength response is different,these factors will eventually lead to the multidimensional ROADM system optical power serious imbalance,the imbalance will reduce the network performance greatly,so it is necessary to multi ROADM system for optical power dynamic equilibrium.In this paper,based on the discussion of multidimensional ROADM technology,in-depth study of the CDC characteristics of the multidimensional ROADM,and accordingly find the method that how to construct a multidimensional CDC ROADM node structure;Based on clarifying the key technologies of multidimensional ROADM,focuses on the research of the dynamic optical power equalization technology in the key technology,which has targeted to develop a design program for the dynamic optical power balancing module;Followed by building hardware platform,support of the software algorithms,and testing,analyzing the main parameters of the object module to verify the design scheme.In short,the research of dynamic optical power equalization technology greatly improves the performance of multidimensional ROADM,promote the development of DWDM technology.
