Compared with the LTE(Long Term Evolution)networks,LTE-A(Long Term Evolution-Advanced)networks make further expansion on original network topology and adopt a new network concept named heterogeneous networks.With the introduction of low power nodes(LPNs)in heterogeneous networks,the performance of networks has been obviously improved since most coverage holes of original network can be solved,however,the random deployment of LPNs put much more pressure on the control of interference problems.In order to get rid of this problem and make the network consumption as low as possible while guaranteeing the user experience,this dissertation combines the concept of traffic demands within the cells and makes green improvements on existing interference coordination techniques for both homogeneous and heterogeneous networks.The existing studies on interference coordination techniques,no matter focusing on homogeneous networks or heterogeneous networks,most make improvements on spectral efficiency and network capacity.Nevertheless,the ignorance on power saving leads to a hidden trouble of high power consumption of wireless communication networks.In order to get rid of this problem and make the network consumption as low as possible while guaranteeing the user experience,this dissertation combines the concept of traffic demands within the cells and makes green improvements on existing interference coordination techniques for both homogeneous and heterogeneous networks.For homogeneous networks,this dissertation proposes an improvement strategy to modify the power allocation of original inter cell interference coordination techniques.Since the proposed strategy is based on traffic demands,this paper also concludes four kinds of common traffic demands distribution so as to simulate the practical environments.For heterogeneous networks,this paper not only takes advantage of traffic demands cognition,but also makes efficient utilization on smart LPNs so as to make more specific power allocation on multi-layer cells thanks to the cognitive and self-organizing functions of smart LPNs.Numerous simulation results proves that the proposed green improvements can obviously lower the power consumption of both homogeneous and heterogeneous networks while guaranteeing the user experience,thus carrying through the green communication concept.
