At present, cloud computing has attracted wide attention in the IT industry, and has gradually from theory to practice. Software and physical computer resources as a service to customers through the network, which compared with the traditional way will save the cost of software and hardware resources magement for customers, and provide dynamic expansion of resources to achieve the computer resources on-demand. The resource monitoring system in the cloud computing platform provides important data support for the stable operation and dynamic expansion of the cloud computing platform.One of the main technologies of cloud computing is virtualization.Based on virtualization technology, creating multiple virtual machines in the physical machine can achieve the efficient use of resources.OpenStack is a virtualization-based technology that provides open source software for building and management of both public and private cloud computing platform.In Addition,It is simple to deploy and scalable for OpenStack.Firstly,this paper summarizes the research background of cloud computing platform resource monitoring and the research status and significance. Then, this paper analyzes the concept, architecture and three service models of cloud computing. The framework of OpenStack cloud computing platform is introduced in detail. The key technologies of resource monitoring under cloud platform are discussed. In Addition, a introduction to the Libvirt technology in detail.At present,Ceilometer is related to the virtual machine resource monitoring in OpenStack cloud computing platform,but Ceilometer is not concerned about the storage of virtual machine resource data. When the collected data is large, Ceilometer will not work from time to time. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a highly available resource monitoring solution,which includes monitoring data acquisition,monitoring data processing and storage and the applications of monitoring data, which includes monitoring data display, intelligent early warning,exapnsion of resoucrs and virtual machine migration in four parts.
