New multi antenna technology is one of the key technologies of the fourth and fifth generation wireless communication. For the user terminal, the current multi antenna technology is mainly about using the MIMO antenna technology. However, a single MIMO system cannot satisfy the need of increasing channel capacity in all scenarios. In addition, because of the complexity of the mobile environment and the limit of the terminal size, there is no effective user terminal smart antenna array design methods.This thesis proposed a MIMO antenna system as transceiver antenna system ;and a smart antenna array is designed based on the MIMO antenna system with the optimal energy transmission efficiency. Then the smart antenna array and the MIMO antenna are combined to form a hybrid antenna system,the system can give full play to the advantages of MIMO antennas and smart antennas in spatial diversity and directional gain,so as to improve the efficiency of mobile terminals and improve the communication quality of the communication system.Therefore, this research has certain significance for improving the energy efficiency of the whole wireless communication system, extending the effective communication time of the terminal and improving the quality of wireless service.Firstly, the purpose of the hybrid antenna system and the research status of related antennas is introduced, some characteristics of the antenna are also presented.Secondly, several novel MIMO antenna systems are proposed.The 4-MIMO antenna system without decoupling structure,can achieve good isolation, excellent gain, high efficiency and low correlation coefficient. The design flow of the hybrid antenna system is including: (1) selection of MIMO antenna; (2) the solution of optimal excitation; (3) the design of feed network; (4) the design of hybrid antenna system;(5)the material object of antenna production and data analysis. Finally, the design of hybrid antenna system is summarized and prospected.
