With the popularity of the Internet and the abundant content of applications, network traffic has changed from the text-and-voice based pattern to video and real-time interactive based. Traditional network architectures are beginning to encounter bottlenecks in the face of complex business types and huge network traffic. Under this context, virtualization,cloud computing and other new network technology began to boom to soar.Cloud computing, through its features as customizable, easy to expand and acquiring on-demand, attracts a large number of users to migrate or directly build their applications in the cloud data center. As more and more applications move to the "cloud" system, the data center and network topology of "cloud" is also facing the congestion, uneven load and security issues, as the traditional Internet does.The appearance of software definition network (SDN), network function virtualization (NFV), deep packet inspection (DPI) and other new technologies, makes scholars and researchers take advantage of application-aware network to solve these problems mentioned above. Its core idea is to separate the control of the network switching equipment and data forwarding , with one or more centralized controllers responsible for handling and managing the forwarding devices in the whole network. In the meantime, through the detection and analysis of the application data packets, the data packets are identified to which application they belong,and then according to the application type deploy the network resource through the controllers. In this paper, by studying southbound interface and controllers of the software defined networking, the application classification in the deep packet inspection, the author achieves the application-aware network based on the function of the resource scheduling of the application, by making use of the mapping relation between applications and forwarding paths. This paper firstly introduces the research status of software-defined network and application-aware network, then elaborates on the OpenFlow protocol, OpenDaylight controller and deep packet inspection technology, then introduces the structure and application scenario of the application path mapping table,and finally uses the controller to centralize-control the network and apply the path mapping table to achieve the application-aware network based on the resource scheduling function of the application, solving the problem of uneven load and congestion in the cloud data center and providing better QoS for different users and applications.
