Currently the core tech of the 4th generation mobole communication system-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) requires orthogonality for all subcarriers, However, FBMC requires orthogonality only for the neighbouring sub-channels. And to fully exploit the given frequency bandwidth, modulation between neighbour orthogonality must be obtained. Thus, the offset quadrature amplitude modulation(OQAM)is used to satisfy this purpose. The combination of filter banks with OQAM modulation leads to the maximum bit rate, without needing a guard time or cyclic prefix as in OFDM. This improves the efficiency of time resource greatly.GNU Radio is a free and open-source development kit for SDR. It provides signal processing module to implement SDR. RF hardware which is not expensive can also be used to create SDR applications. GNU Radio itself can serve as a simulator as well as transmit real-time data stream. It can also show waveform and result at the output of the designed module. In this way, GRC platform and real communication system have many similarities in mechanism.This paper first introduces the basic principle of FBMC and the extending FFT method to implement FBMC-OQAM system as well as the structure of SDR and the machnism of GNU Radio. After that the paper summarizes a solution to develop SDR engineering. At last, this paper designs and implements the modules of FBMC-OQAM system in Linux system by delivering the modulation and demodulation process of FBMC-OQAM system as well as testing and verifying the availability of this platform.
