Since the end of last century,the program of reality TV show continues expanding,the development of the sports reality show is rapidly in recent years.After the introduction of foreign program copyright,Chinese sports reality shows enter the high tide phase.However,Chinese sports reality shows are facing many difficulties,localization reform has become the best way to develop sports reality shows.Nowadays the research on sports reality show localization strategy not only lacks of system specification perspective,but also lacks of the experience summarizes of successful cases.Therefor the article researches localization strategy of sports reality show in two aspects,which not only has practical significance,but also has academic research value.This paper takes the localization strategy of sports reality shows as the research object,the paper analyzes the sports reality show and localization strategy in four chapters:The first chapter is “Introduction”: the paper briefly describe the background and significance of sports reality show,and redefine the concept of sports reality show and the localization strategies based on the previous studies,the paper also introduces the research methodology and innovation.The second chapter is “The present situation and program characters”: the paper analyzes the program characters of sports reality show based on the analysis of the program development process and the present situation.In the aspect of the cultural connotation,the sports reality show contains entertainment and competitiveness;In the aspect of the audience psychology,the sports reality show contains the theory of defamiliarization;In the aspect of program communication characters,the sports reality show provides substituted experience.The third chapter is “The localization case of sports reality show”: The paper integrates program elements of the reality show,and compares two edition of "Beat the Champions" to analysis the localization strategy.The paper interviews a number of TV personalities to summarize the successful experience of sports reality show program localization,and the paper try to provide normative analysis process and perspective for the further research of sports reality show.The fourth chapter is “The improvement of localization strategies”: the paper points out the sports reality show facing lots of plights such as homogenization content、cross cultural conflict and the excessive entertainment.The main contradiction of sports reality show is the conflict between the sport competitiveness and variety entertainment.Based on the analysis the high cost,celebrity effect,game IP development trends of sports reality show.The paper points out that the solution of the plights that sports reality show faced in the localization process,are return to competitive sports spirit and adhere to the program element innovation.
