A Discourse Perspective:How Our Metropolis Daily Frame The Aged Migrant

With the accelerating pace of urbanization in China and the arrival of the aging society,the aged migrant come into being,and for the universal two-child policy,this group is becoming larger and larger,causing public attention to this group.In this context,it?s necessary to research the group from a discourse perspective,analysis of the contradictory situation the aged migrant faced with,and study comprehensively how our media frame the aged migrant.This paper uses the narratology theory to analyzes how our metropolis the aged migrant by content analysis and text analysis in the three years and tries to find the reason of it.What?s more,this paper also actively explores the features and lack of the image construction of the aged migrant and puts forward the reasonable suggestions.The results show that the number of the aged migrant reports increase with the advance of the year;the reports fully focuses on daily life,calls for suggestions,policy advocacy,while low attention is being paid to mental health and medical security for the aged migrant.The reports tend to the negative images of the aged migrant.Conclusion that the age migrant is gradually coming into the public view and stigmatization exists are made.Then the paper tries to explain this phenomenon from three aspects.In order to improve image construction of the aged migrant,this paper offers four suggests.News producers should use the official empowerment to broaden the coverage of discourse space;strengthen the reporting efforts,take the initiative to set the issue;abandon the default position,break the leading narrative framework;enrich the coverage issues,enhance discourse weight of the aged migrant.
