| With the development of Internet of Things technology and wireless ad hoc network technology,wireless ad hoc network technology is more and more applied to people’s production and life.In the meter reading industry,wireless meter reading has become a key technology.Using wireless nodes to collect and upload meter readings saves a lot of costs.Traditional wireless nodes are usually battery-powered which limits network life.Periodic replacement of battery brings huge overhead and inconvenience to the maintenance of the network.Therefore,it is critical to optimize the lifetime of wireless ad hoc networks in wireless meter reading industry.In this paper,we study the key technologies of 6LoWPAN network life for wireless meter reading and achieve the purpose of optimizing the network energy consumption and improve network life.Through the analysis of meter reading behaviors and data flow,we find that meter reading data has the characteristics of long period and flow concentration,the data uploading only happens at fixed 2~4 time points.In this case,we design a hybrid network model based on time synchronization which uses time synchronization and network scheduling to divide the network into two states.In the Active state,the network carries out data transmission and reception.In the Inactive state,the network operates at very low energy consumption.Meanwhile,two models of energy consumption estimation model based on software are designed and implemented in this paper.Using on-line energy consumption estimation model based on state and time statistics,nodes can constantly monitor their energy consumption and make adjustments and feedback.Using off-line energy consumption estimation model based on nodes behavior prediction,network users can obtain the corresponding network parameters without deploying the actual network.In the optimization of the data transmission energy consumption in the business time period,this paper designs the energy balance mechanism to reduce the impact of imbalance of energy consumption due to the use of the ORPL routing protocol based on the collection tree.The nodes adjust the CCA period adaptively according to the energy consumption to balance the energy consumption in the network and improve the network life.For the downlink multicast data,this paper using low-power multicast algorithm based on role classification to reduce redundant multicast messages in the network,thereby reducing the energy consumption of the network.At the end of the paper,we specific analyze the performance and energy consumption of the implemented mechanism by deploying actual application scenarios experiments.We verify the effect of each mechanism and draw corresponding conclusions. |
