Gekko geckos and pigeons have excellent spatial mobilities and are ideal models for the development of bio-robots.Wireless recording and stimulation system keep animals away from wire binding, which will help reveal the basic rules of neural regulations under the natural movement of animals. It is important for the practical application of bio-robots.A wireless electrophysiological signal recording system was designed for Gekko gecko. The system consists of signal recording device, data receiving device and user interface on computer. The size of the signal recording device is 40 mm×25 mm×6.3 mm and weight is 15.8 g(the weight of double lithium battery is 9.7 g).It can work continuously for about 2 hour within the range of 50 meters. This system has 4 channels and each channel’s sampling rate is 40 KSPS.There are two different kinds of electrophysiological signal recording devices for Gekko gecko. One is suitable for recording neuronal peak potential(Spike)with a magnification of 3000 times and the other is suitable for recording electromyography(EMG)signal with a magnification of 1455 times. The user interface on computer is written by LabVIEW to display and storage signal.Using Plexon neural spike generation board and the EMG of human’s arms to test this two different kinds of signal recording devices respectively. After confirming that the system is stable and reliable, the Gekko gecko’s electrophysiological signals recording experiments were conducted successfully. Then the signal is preliminarily processed by MATLAB wavelet toolbox. The results show that this system can achieve the neuronal peak potential and EMG signal acquisition effectively. This paper also presents a miniature wireless remote control system for Gekko geckos and pigeons. The system consists of user interface on computer(UI),command transmitter(CTX)and micro-wireless stimulator(MWS).The size of MWS is 20 mm×30 mm×17 mm and weight is 9.3 g(a lithium battery is 3 g).This system has 8 channels and can work continuously for about 1 hour.It can work normally within 50 meters. The UI written by LabVIEW is used to set the stimulus parameters. This device is used to conduct experiments of artificial induction for Gekko Gecko’s and pigeon’s locomotion with metal microelectrode implanted in related brain regions.During the experiment, the Gekko Gecko’s turnning, the pigeon’s takeoff and turnning appear more frequently.
