A robo-pigeon is a kind of special robots that treats the living pigeon itself as the robot-moving carrier.The pigeons have flexible and agile ability in flying,and It has very strong adaptability to environment and can carry a certain weight when it’s flying,which make the pigeon to become a ideal research object for the robo-bird.It is of great significance and value to study the robo-pigeon.The neural stimulation method,especially in field tests,is a challenge in the of robo-pigeon researches.In this study,we propose a novel approach for neural stimulation in the robo-pigeon’s field flight tests by preprogram control.Comparing with the neural stimulation conducted by radio frequency communication,this method has no the limitation of working radius.And the feasibility of this approach has been well approved by our flight test.We carried out research in this paper as follow: take the initial research on the pigeon’s homing trajectory,which can be helpful for getting to know its method in flight and navigation;The relationship between ToS and ICo nuclei in pigeon’s midbrain and the control of its flight was further verified;the circuit module we designed for realizing the function of pre-programmed control is powerful and very lightweight,which will help robo-pigeon’s long-distance flight activities;we designed the experiments to control the robo-pigeon’s flight motion in outdoor,and analysis the difference of the robo-pigeon under stimulus and no stimulation.This study will facilitate the real applications of robo-pigeons outdoor for kinds of purpose. |
