Passive localization is one of the key problems in antenna signal processing, while direction-finding method is one of important algorithm in this field. But there are many reflected rays in complex environment nearby the source, and traditional direction-finding method is no longer used in this case.Aimed at the issue, this paper proposed a new direction-finding method based on DOA information.Ray tracing is a common deterministic propagation prediction model, this paper proposed an improved ray launching algorithm by introducing weighted receiving strategy and completed the corresponding software research in Visual Studio 2010 using C# and OpenGL.A great agreement between theoretical simulation results and narrowband measurement in some indoor scenes compared with traditional method indicates that the new algorithm produces higher accuracy in the same time complexity, the root-mean-square error decreased 3.97 dB on average. This paper also proposed a new passive direction-finding localization method in small areas with complex environment. The method aims at many non-direct paths in the small area near the source, combines with the reverse ray tracing and utilizes the small error of the direction finding technique. Then reverse ray tracing process is completed based on the direction and location information of some effective points, and the intersection points of these paths are registered. After a global research we can find the source location which is the most dense point area. The corresponding software research is also completed in Visual Studio 2010 using C# and OpenGL.Finally, the feasibility of this method is verified by simulation and analysis about the influence of the number of input points, the DOA estimation error, the number of localization in an averaging process and the environment information error in several specific outdoor scenes in the specific software environment.
