With the development of the somatosensory technology,people are eager to experience the harmony of human computer interface.As a natural way of interaction,gestures are widely used in various fields.At present,studies of somatosensory interactive motion gestures is a hot issue.However,most of the researchers have paid more attention in the research of gesture recognition algorithms,rarely of them designed gestures based on users’ preference.Moreover,no clear rules or guidelines currently exist to assist designers of such interface.In order to have a natural and smooth user experience,how to properly design gestures becomes an important problem.This paper starts from the technical support and theoretical guidance of somatosensory interaction.It summarized the principle,function and application of Kinect,which is widely used in somatosensory interaction.Then,the definition,classification and application of gestures in the field of human-computer interaction are described.By the combination of the knowledge of design psychology,language semantics and human-computer interface design,the necessity and feasibility of gestures used in somatosensory interaction were discussed.Then,theories related to the design of natural motion gestures are proposed,which are the basis of gestures design for multimedia display device.Then,a user-defined motion gestures design method for multimedia display device was proposed.In order to better understand users’ preference,we chose to use the method of guessability study and participatory design to make participants design gestures as they like.After the statistics and analysis of the end-user data taken from the experiment,the user-defined motion gestures were classified,and a set of users’ consensus gestures are proposed by conducting an agreement analysis.Then,the usability test of the consensus gesture set was conducted.After the experiment,the principles of the design of interactive gestures are proposed,which provides certain guidance for gestures design of somatosensory interaction.Finally,the research carried on the design practice of gesture-based multimedia display human-computer interaction design based on Kinect sensor,and proved the feasibility of the gestures design in the previous chapter.The significance of this paper is to discuss the method of gesture design based on human factors,and design a set of interactive gestures for multimedia display device.The purpose is to realize the natural interaction and enhance the user experience.In this paper,the design method of gesture and the five major principles of interactive gesture design have a certain significance to the design of interactive gesture,which reflects the idea of user-centered design.
