With the growing demand for high quality images,improving the quality of images is particularly important.High quality images play a significant role in monitoring security,medical science,remote sensing images,aerospace,military applications and so on.So far there are two kinds of traditional methods improving the quality of images: one is to remake the internal structures of the image sensors and the other one is to use the complex image processing algorithms.Both of the methods suffer from high cost and complexity.In order to solve the above problems and find a simpler method to improve the quality of images,this paper proposes a new method that uses sawtooth-shaped-function optical signal to illuminate the objects and integrates the frame accumulation technology to improve the quality of the acquired images.From the point of light source,this method not only improves the quality of collected images,but also reduces the energy of light source and decreases the cost and complexity,which serves an effective way for the image detection field.This paper investigates and explores the new way to improve the performance of image detection and completes the following works:In the first place,the paper introduces the new method to improve the performance of image detection and the involved technologies which include shaped-function signal technology,frame accumulation technology and so on.And then the feasibility of the new way has been analysed theoretically.Also this paper presents the overview of dynamic object recognition methods and elaborates the combination of frame accumulation technology and dynamic target identification used in the paper.In the second place,a complete image acquisition and detection system is designed to validate the presented method.The experiment system consists of three parts.The first part is the shaped-function optical signal generating module which utilizes the direct digital frequency synthesis technology based on the FPGA development board.The second part consists of a CCD camera and the NI image capture card which is used to acquire the video images.The third part is the upper computer processing module which transfers the obtained images from second part into the PC for processing analysis.Finally the designed image acquisition and detection system is used for experiments and the results prove that the quality of images is improved using sawtooth-shaped-function optical signal to illuminate the objects and also it is effective to incorporate the frame accumulation technology and dynamic object recognition method.What's more,the experimental results are analyzed and discussed based on subjective and objective image evaluation criteria.
