The Construction Of Librarians' Professional Ability In American Universities And Its Enlightenment To China

Academic librarians in the United States have made outstanding contributions to thereaders and the library in every field with their higher vocational ability,the reason is because they have a good professional capacity building mechanism for librarians.Take the Ivy League universities as an example,the keyword extraction of librarian recruitment conditions by using the method of frequency analysis,sum up the main Collaboration,Communication/People Skills,Professional Knowledge,Project Management,Flexibility,Leadership,Data Analysis,Creativity/Innovation structure of American Librarians' occupation ability.And then study and sum up the librarian's professional ability construction of American university library mainly through the refinement of occupation certification and probation requirements,the establishment of security system,the quality of intelligence master education books to establish continuing education mechanism,establish professional qualification evaluation system,establishing incentive mechanism,and the analysis of the successful experience of American university library staff occupation ability construction and existing problems.At present,the domestic university libraries are faced with the transformation and development,and the librarians' professional ability needs to be improved.Based on the advanced experience of the United States,on the basis of the existing mechanism construction of occupation ability of our member specific national conditions and problems in University Libraries in China,our country should establish a librarian occupation qualification certification system,the establishment and perfection of library science education quality assurance system,strengthen the continuing education of Librarians in colleges and universities,the management reform of professional title evaluation system and improve the incentive mechanism of university librarians,establishing and perfecting the construction of the professional ability of university librarians.
