Influence Of WeChat Use Of The Older Generation On Kinship

The rapid development of social media has changed the relationship between people.Kinship is the most important social relationship in human society and the older generation is the key force linking kinship.As the older generation in the WeChat gradually expands,it is bound to bring about changes to the kin network that was originally offline.However,there are not many researches in this field at present.In this study,taking four family relatives as an example and taking Fei Xiaotong’s "Pattern of Difference Sequence" as the frame of reference,this study explores how WeChat intervenes in the circle of relatives and interacts with the original off-line kinship in terms of affection,power and interests.This study focuses on the reasons for the establishment of family groups,the impact of interactive modes on family engagement,and discusses the usages of WeChat in the older generation.In this paper,the "difference order pattern" theory as a framework,respectively,from the affection,power and interests of to analysis and discussion.In the modern mobile social context,the radius of the family’s core miniaturization,and the extent of family interaction has become smaller and the kinship has become more difficult to sustain.The study found that on the level of affection,the appearance of WeChat,especially WeChat group,has gained the experience of "living together" in relatives who dispersed in various spaces.The distant relatives that have been losing contact for many years have also been reconnected so that in the daily interaction the feelings and cohesion have been enhanced.In this process,the kinship circle has been enlarged as a whole,but various reasons have also led to the "forgotten" of some relatives,while the boundary of the small families is remain exist firmly.At the level of power,Wechat’s entertaining and informal way of communication,especially the red envelopes and emoticons,have eliminated the intergenerational power.On the other hand,the one-to-many interaction model of the WeChat group not only maps and strengthens the offline Non-religious power.Finally,at the benefit level,WeChat Group strengthens the cooperation between relatives on common interests;the reunion of distant relatives and the remobilization of human relationships provide reasonable grounds for the relative circle to maintain longer-term contacts.ln my opinion,WeChat has had a positive or negative impact on kinship from three aspects of affection,power and interests.These influences combine to form the final kinship network.
