| Japanese TV drama fans in China have a clear selection inclination toward different online video platforms.The paper uses questionnaire survey and in-depth interview as the main methodology of quantitative and qualitative research,to reveal the reasons of the inclination observed on Chinese fans of Japanese TV drama.Then the author explores how the Japanese TV drama fans will choose platforms under ideal conditions,and how various factors influence this kind of choices.The author observes that:Japanese TV drama fans in China only have limited choices about the online platforms.Most of the fans relied on the fan-subtitled sources in the past six months,while the official platforms which have the copyrights doesn’t receive much attention.Fan-subtitled platformsare the primary but resigned choice.In terms of influence factors:the most attractive feature of a Japanese TV drama platform is the updating speed;Most of the fans doesn’t resist paying,but whether paying or not depends on what the platform can provide;Core functions are necessary,but there are no much differences between platforms;Currently the fans only treat the platforms as unemotional tools,while as the relationship between platforms and their audiences is improved,the fans will tend to choose the platforms that meet their self-identities.Finally,based on the research,the paper gives some practical advises to the current online Japanese TV drama platforms:keeping introducing high quality Japanese TV dramas,providing professional and sincere services,and choosing the right promotion timing,especially do not announce the introducing of the copyrights when the TV dramas are on the air;utilizing the copyrights and cooperation to provide exclusive resources and contents to the fans;enriching the information for the next season Japanese TV dramas in order to improve user viscosity;providing more flexible paying and advertisement options to improve the platform affinity;Maintaining the friendly image of the platforms in the fans. |
