With the development of information technology,the reliability of data transmission and communication capacity play important roles in the future information warfare.The Joint Tactical Information Distribution System(JTIDS)is a current communications carrier used by the Link 16 data link,which provides real-time,secure,flexible and anti-interference information exchange services for military forces in the modern battlefield.However,the increasing demands of communication performance in modern military have exceeded the original performance of JTIDS system.Based on this,this thesis optimizes the decoding performance and communication capacity of JTIDS system without changing the original system framework,so as to realize the performance innovation of the original system.Firstly,this thesis researched Reed-Solomon(RS)soft decoding algorithm.Without changing the encoding mode as RS code,the decoding mode of JTIDS system is upgraded from hard algorithm to soft algorithm.The decoding performance is therefore improved.Meanwhile,this thesis proposed a suitable solution to extract soft information for JTIDS system.Secondly,this thesis analyzed the algorithm complexity of RS soft decoding and the relationship between decoding performance and the number of iterations.In addition,the computational complexity of RS soft decoding was optimized from two aspects,which are iteration times of RS soft decoding algorithm itself and the frame structure of JTIDS system using RS soft decoding.The new frame structure can avoid unnecessary iterations of soft decoding.Then combined with the project development,this thesis selected a suitable algorithm solution according to the data processing capabilities of Digital Signal Processor(DSP),and used high-level language to recompile the algorithm,which will benefit the project development.Thirdly,this thesis researched the expansion plan of JTIDS system,which provides information input for performance improvement of soft decoding.Without changing the communication mechanism of JTIDS system,this thesis upgraded the information exchange mode from single delivery to double delivery,so as to expand the capacity of data transmission within a unit time slot to improve communication performance.Finally,the Matlab simulation results prove that RS soft decoding algorithm can improve the decoding performance of JTIDS system and these optimizations are effective.In addition,through the communication platform based on JTIDS system,the feasibility of the expansion solution with double sending and receiving is verified.
