As a new type of wireless communication technology,Ultra-Wide Band(UWB)technology directly modulates useful information on narrow pulses to achieve data transmission.With high speed,low power,anti-interference,and many other advantages,it is the most powerful competitor for short-range and high-speed wireless communication.Compared with the traditional wireless communication signal,UWB signal,which needs no carrier modulation,occupies very large bandwidths while transmitting power is very low.Therefore,it tends to be overwhelmed by background noise or other interference signals and are not easily detected and received.To solve the above problems,this paper applies stochastic resonance(SR),a nonlinear phenomenon that can enhance the weak signal by noise,to the detection and reception of UWB communication signals in order to improve the transmission performance of UWB communication system.First,the SR model based on the bistable system and the UWB communication model are introduced in detail and analyzed in depth,which lays a theoretical foundation for the application of SR to the detection and reception of UWB signals.Next,an UWB signal waveform detection algorithm based on the intra-well SR is proposed.The traditional signal detection methods based on SR mostly use the inter-well SR.However,the inter-well SR is more suitable for low-frequency signal detection due to the limitation of the adiabatic approximation conditions.The intra-well SR can overcome the limitations of the inter-well SR,so it is applied to the waveform detection of UWB signals in this paper.The criterion of parameter setting is given and the normalized cross-correlation coefficient is adopted as the measure index of the proposed algorithm.The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively extract the waveform of UWB signals with different modulation modes from strong noise.Finally,an UWB signal receiving algorithm based on the intra-well SR is proposed.A typical application scenario of UWB technology is indoor short-range wireless communication,which requires a communication device with small size and simple structure.Therefore,low-complexity energy detection receivers have attracted wide attention,but their performance is susceptible to the integration duration and filter bandwidth.Intra-well SR,which can transfer the energy of the noise to the signal,is used to optimize the front-end of the traditional energy detection receiver in this paper.The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can significantly improve the Bit Error Rate(BER)performance of the UWB communication system.
