The Study On Dunhuang Manuscript Pel.3644 Excerpts Of Phrases And Sentences

Dunhuang Manuscript Pel.3644 which is named Excerpts of Phrases and Sentences is written in the Later Tang Dynasty(932-935).It has 119 rows and the first and end line is incomplete.The content includes the common colloquial words,seven-character poems,short sentences and texts about condolence in the end of this manuscript where the colloquial words and short sentences are the main part of manuscript.The P.3644 has provided rich historical materials to study the history and culture of Dunhuang area during the Later Tang Dynasty and Five Dynasties.However,no one in the academic community has ever made a comprehensive study of it.From the perspective of philology,the author collates and studies the content of P.3644.The full text is divided into two parts and the first part being the research chapter,which is divided into three chapters.The first chapter focuses on the name and writing age of P.3644.Due to this manuscript’s contents are complicated,scholars have different views on the name.I make a detailed analysis and comparison of the scholar’s views and then selecting Excerpts of Phrases and Sentences becomes the name of P.3644.About the age of writing,this article analyzes the historical events,characters and names of official positions that appeares in the manuscript and indicates P.3644 is written in the Later Tang Dynasty(932-935).In the second chapter,I analyze in detail the Buddhist scriptures,the seven-character poems and the selling poems in P.3644 and summarize the socio-cultural status and commercial trade in Dunhuang during the later Tang and Five Dynasties.The content in the third chapter includes the research results on words and short sentences in P.3644.I analyzes which has the academic value of phrases,such as the temples and the words relate to the warehouses of Guiyijun.Regarding this as the catting point,I respectively discuss the relations between temples in Dunhuang and zoroastrianism faith in the Guiyijun Besides including the management system of warehouse.In the proofreading chapter,I make a detailed recording and segmentation of the manuscripts P.3644 with the emphasis on detailed collating of the colloquial words.
