However, Chinese commercial banks yet stagger on traditional deposit-loan operating model, and more than 60% income still roots in interest earnings. RMB internationalization, a national policy which was pushed out in 2008, might have a huge impact on Chinese commercial banks. The research aims at analyzing the influence of RMB internationalization on efficiency improvement for Chinese commercial banks, by introducing the theory and current situation of RMB internationalization and commercial bank internationalization, based on which DEA - Tobit model is utilized to access the theory put forward by this research. The result shows that the overall influence in data period is negative, mainly because there are many aspects of the influence, and the negative ones dominate. And commercial bank internationalization stage theory gives an insight of how a commercial bank conquer the global market. It explains that Chinese commercial banks are all in the primitive stage of internationalization, during which they invest more and profit less, by which efficiency will decline. However, the theory forecasts that after the first step, Chinese commercial banks will encounter a period of efficiency improving.
