The Analysis Of The Status Quo, Problems And Perspective Of Russian Corporations' IPOs In Hong Kong

After the collapse of Soviet Union, Russian energy corporations in different industries develop rapidly. With the development of China-Russia bilateral relations and the deterioration of Russia-West relations, Russian corporations show interests in having IPOs in Hong Kong. After the IPOs of Rusal (Russian Aluminum) and IRC Limited in 2010, there will be more and more other Russian energy corporations trading in Hong Kong stock market. Hong Kong will be a new oversea hub for Russian companies and is important in Russia's future financial development. At the same time, Russian banks start to open subsidiaries in Hong Kong. The perspective of IPOs of Russian corporations in Hong Kong capital market is promising.The research paper contains five chapters. The first chapter includes the background and significance of the research topic, the literature review, the methodologies applied in the paper and the originality and shortcomings of the research topic. The second part introduces the political and economic background of Russian corporations'IPOs in Hong Kong. The third, the fourth and the fifth parts are the core contents of the dissertation. The third part analyzes the status quo and drivers of Russian corporations'having IPOs in Hong Kong capital market. The fourth part introduces the advantages of Hong Kong as an IPO hub for Russian corporations and compares Hong Kong capital market with other financial centers in the world. The final part analyzes the problems and perspective of Russian corporations'IPOs in Hong Kong.
