Cross-border M&A is an important way to acquire heterogeneous resources and competitive advantage.In the economic globalization and knowledge economy era,creative assets have become the core resource for enterprises to participate in international competition and improve the core ability.Since the financial crisis,Chinese enterprises contributed to a tide of cross-border M&A rapidly including cross-border M&A seeking for creative assets.It is an urgent problem to evaluate the performance more systematically.The main content of this paper is: first,through the literature review introduces theory of cross-border M&A and global value chain are introduced through the literature review;second,the relationship among creative assets,cross-border m&a and core competence is clarified which is followed by the global value chain analysis applied to evaluate the performance of the cross-border M&A seeking for creative assets aimed at improve the core ability;besides,coupled with an evaluating indication system,a evaluating model is established respectively from the internal,horizontal and vertical value chain;furthermore,apply the qualitative analysis method and quantitative analysis method to analyze the case of Lenovo' M&A with IBM PC empirically to verify the applicability of the M&A performance model;At last,reasonable suggestions is proposed for Chinese cross-border M&A seeking for creative assets.
