Rice is one of the main crops in China.Its annual planting area is about 30 million hectares and its output account takes about 35 percent of the total grain yield.With humid climate and plentiful rainfalls the southern China is the main production areas for rice.At harvest time,the rice contents high moisture.At such humid climate,rice tends to mildew and rot easily if it's not dried up in time,thus causing losses to rice farmers and even affecting national food security.So the development and popularization of rice dryng machinery is of great significance.In recent years,with the promotion of government departments at all levels,China's grain drying mechanization level has been significantly improved.Till the end of 2013,national grain drying machinery reserves reached 42.8 thousand units and mechanical grain drying quantity is 75.293 million tons.However,the drying mechanization level in China is still low,the number of farmers who use mechanical drying rice is small and the number of drying centers which provide services for farmers isn't very large.Through the investigation of farmers using mechanical drying and the development of drying machinery in the main provinces of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River,using statistical analysis method and binary choice logit model,the influencing factors for the adoption of mechanical drying were analyzed here.The results showed that the planting scale,family farmers and non-agricultural income ratio are the main factors that affect the choice of the farmers in whether using the mechanical drying or not.The scale of the planting is positively related to the adoption intention and behavior of the farmers,while the non-agricultural income is negatively related to the adoption of the farmers.In addition,the drying service level as well as farmers' gender and age also has some effects on farmers' will to adopt mechanical drying.Besides,through the comparision of the ecnomic benefits of three typical operating mode of drying center,self and foreigh service type dryig center unit with small cost,high income and good onomic benefits,is suitable for China's current status of drying machinery development.But the three modes of drying center all have the problem of low equipment utilization rate with quite a large improving space for economic benefits.At the same time,the average annual operating amout of the typical drying center was optimized and obtained three typical drying center to meet the monetary requirements of the critical value of the amount of work.Finally,through summarizing the problems that the crrent progress of the drying machine of China is faced with,and combining with field rsearch in rural households and drying machinery operators to reflect the situation,some views on the development of drying machine are put forward.
