With the deepening of economic globalization, the increasingly fierce market competition environment. Enterprises rely solely on their own internal limited resources have been unable to meet the needs of survival and development, Therefore, in order to obtain more information and external resources, to avoid risks posed by environmental uncertainty, business executives often seek to build networks of relationships with external organizations. As a special group in the market economy, small and medium enterprises use executive social network relations to acquire and use resources effectively is becoming more and more common in the process of development of small and medium-sized enterprises. Thus, executive social capital for growth and development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) play an important role. In the theoretical circle, however, there are few researchers from a sociology perspective to analyze the influence of social capital of enterprise growth, and the research paradigm also cannot be directly applied to the analytical framework of small and medium-sized enterprise growth. Therefore, based on executives from the actual situation of social capital in China, the relevant issues remain to be further discussed.Based on this, the dissertation discussed the relevance between the social capital of executives and the growth of enterprise, and social capital is divided into three dimensions, network relationships, network status and social reputation, to analyze the degree of influence between different dimensions of social capital of executives and enterprise growth. In addition, this paper combines the social capital and the strategic choice theory, further introducing the diversification strategy, examine its intermediary role in social capital and enterprise growth. In particular, the paper puts forward the following problems:(1) management social capital, including network status, networks relationship and social reputation will have an effect on enterprise growth; (2) how to implement action mechanism path of management social capital to the enterprise growth, whether through a diversification strategy that factor to affect the enterprise growth, that is to say, whether diversification strategy plays an intermediary role between social capital and the growth of enterprise.Based on the 2009-2013 in Shenzhen Stock Exchange small and medium-sized enterprise board listed companies as research samples, discusses the executive social capital influence on enterprise growth, and further test the mediation effect of diversification strategy choice. Through a series of theoretical analysis and empirical test, the paper came to the conclusion that the following three aspects:Firstly, executive social capital which included network relationships, network status and social reputation three dimensions has a positive role on enterprise growth in driving forward, but the degree is different, among them the influence of social reputation is largest. Secondly, the diversification strategy plays an important intermediary role in the relationship between executive social capital and enterprise growth; Finally, the mechanism of executive social capital to enterprise growth exist two paths:the indirect path of "executive social capital-enterprise growth" and the indirect path of "executive social capital-diversification strategy-enterprise growth".The study deepens the understanding of executive social capital to the enterprise growth, in the field of executive social capital has carried on the thorough discussion. In this paper, the following three innovations:(1) From angle of organizational social capital to study the influence of executive social capital on diversification strategy choices and enterprise growth, expanded the field of research; (2) The executive social capital is divided into network relationships, network status, social reputation three dimensions, to explore the influence of different dimensions of enterprise growth, improving the measurement system of executives social capital; (3) Build and empirically the direct path of "executive social capital-enterprise growth" and the indirect path of "executive social capital-diversification strategy-enterprise growth", systematically reveals the mechanism of executive social capital to the enterprise growth. |
