Empirical Research On Efficiency Of Leshan City Commercial Bank

For the development of national economic, the finance industry is indispensable, and banking is also a mainstay of the financial industry. Commercial banks 'goal is to achieve profit and put the minimum input to get the maximum output. The level of efficiency of banks, to a large extent, determines the level of profitability of banks. At the same time, the efficiency of the bank has been long studied by the scholars. City Commercial Banks came out in around 1990 s, and they were transferred by city credit cooperative system. The City Commercial Banks focus on the development of the financial industry in small and medium cities and are injecting vitality into cities' economic development. The object of this thesis---the Commercial Bank of Leshan--- is one of the earliest established city commercial banks in China. It has long history and it has great research value.This thesis firstly explains the background and significance of the study on the efficiency of Leshan City Commercial Bank. Through the relevant research to understand the basic situation of the field of bank efficiency is essential. Secondly, the concept of efficiency and other definition is defined. Then, through reviewing the efficiency evaluation method, the research method of finance index analysis and data efficiency analysis are determined.Also, this thesis describes the status of Leshan City Commercial Bank by the basic situation, the organizational structure and the basic economic indicators. In this thesis, the efficiency of Leshan City Commercial Bank is measured, and the factors that affect the efficiency of it based on the finance index analysis and Input-oriented variable return to scale data efficiency method are point out. The result displays that the operating efficiency of Leshan City Commercial Bank in finance index analysis method in 2012-2014 is not ideal. The operating efficiency of Leshan City Commercial Bank in DEA method in 2012 is not valid but in 2013 and 2014 the operating efficiency is valid. Finally, the thesis makes a summary and puts forward the corresponding improvement suggestions.
