China Great Wall Asset Management Corporation is one of the four major state-owned asset management corporations in China, which was established in1999. The Harbin Office of the China Great Wall Asset Management Corporation is the sub-branch of the company set up in Heilongjiang province in March, 2000.At the beginning, it was mainly responsible for the disposal of non-performing assets of Agricultural Bank of China Heilongjiang branch. In 2005, it also completed the acquisition and disposal of the commercialization of bad assets of ICBC Heilongjiang branch. In 2012, after the completion of the political asset disposal task, China Great Wall Asset Management Corporation had embarked on the road of commercialization in accordance with the national development policy. In the process of exploring the new business, investment banking business had become the new profit growing point and the business direction,and gradually formed a variety of business models in asset management,periodical investment and financing, tailored intermediate business and professional business platform.With the rapid development of China's economy, the deep openness of financial industry and the rapid development of capital market, the continuous optimization of the economic structure, asset management, restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, securities issuance and other investment banking businesses are facing with ample market opportunity and great development potential. Under such a good development circumstance, this paper will take the Harbin Office of the China Great Wall Asset Management Corporation as the research object and the purpose of this study is aiming to discover and solve the problems existing in the development of investment banking, and promote investment banking business to form a sustainable and profitable growth mode. This paper will analyze the problems of lacking of sustainable profit model, simple product structure, inefficient customer development and service ability, lacking of investment banking talent and the need to improve the risk control system. In addition, through the analysis, this paper will also find out the reasons and the restriction and limitation of the scope of operation, the late start, the capitalrestriction, the local influence and the change of the ideological consciousness.According to its own situation of the Harbin Office and combining with the regional economic situation of Heilongjiang Province, this paper will propose the relevant strategic suggestions for the development of investment banking. These suggestions are to clarify the investment banking business development planning,enhance the innovation ability to construct product systems, improve the customer marketing and service ability, strengthen the construction of talent team and establish a sound risk control system. These effective measures can promote its investment banking business development, and make a certain positive significance to build a sustainable development system.
