Using sucker rod pumping unit for oil production is the most reliable and most widely used way. Due to the complex working environment of the underground, the probability of pump's fault is higher. At present, the oil filed mainly depends on artificial recognition for the diagnosis of the pump's working condition, and the discovery of the fault is lagging behind, in the time of oil field accelerate towards digital and intelligent, this mode of production has been unable to meet the needs of the development of oil fields. To speed up the realization of real-time monitoring and real-time diagnosis of the rod pump's fault is one of the main development direction of the oil fields in China currently.At present, the remote monitoring technology of the sucker rod pumping unit has reached a very high level at home and abroad, however, there are few corresponding software systems for real-time diagnosis of sucker rod pump. On the basis of the research on the working principle of the sucker rod pumping unit and its pump, this article develops a set of sucker rod pump's fault diagnosis system with the established real-time data acquisition system, remote transmission system and the diagnosis model of the pump's working condition, which realizes the real-time monitoring and real-time diagnosis of the rod pump's fault. In this paper, the research results mainly include the following points:1. Through the research of the working principle of the sucker rod pumping unit and its pump, and the analysis and summary of the main fault types and characteristics of the sucker rod pump, this paper completed the design of the overall framework of the sucker rod pump's fault diagnosis system.2. According to the design of the overall framework of the system, the work was done to complete the design of hardware system and the optimal choice about the hardware equipment, and to develop data acquisition system, remote transmission system and host computer real-time data acquisition software of he sucker rod pump's fault diagnosis system.3. According to the research of the extraction methods of indicator diagram's characteristics, aiming at the disadvantages of traditional feature extraction methods, an improved feature extraction method is proposed.4. According to the analysis of the indicator diagram of different pump conditions, the work was done to establish a fault diagnosis model which was based on multi-kernel support vector machine, and to compare the results of the system's diagnosis before and after the improvement of the extraction methods of indicator diagram's characteristics, the results shows that the correct recognition rate of the improved method is higher.5. The Software development tool of Visual Studio 2010 and SQL Server 2008 database management platform was used to develop the sucker rod pump's fault diagnosis system, and realized the function of real-time monitoring and real-time diagnosis of the rod pump's fault.Through experimental test, the system of sucker rod pump's fault diagnosis runs well, and the diagnosis results are accurate, it can meet the needs of the oil fields.
