The oilfield of AD belongs to large carbonate reservoir. With large fluid production and gas-liquid ratio of most of oil wells, nearly 60% of oil wells are using electric pump production. Operation of ESP was affected seriously by high gas-liquid ratio and there are all kinds of matching downhole gas-liquid separators. How to optimize matching downhole gas-liquid separators according to the wells conditions is the key. Therefore, the following works were done in this paper:(1) Production data of AD pump oil wells were collected and finished. The fluid production and the gas-liquid ratio of the whole field and the blocks of ADI, AD2 and AD4 were analyzed and finally the target yield and gas-liquid ratio range were defined.(2) Through extensive investigation and research on the downhole gas-liquid separators of ESP in China and abroad, CFD numerical simulation is carried out for typical centrifugal and vortex gas-liquid separator and the flow line, pressure field, velocity field and so on were analyzed deeply, which provides the basis for the two stage gas-liquid separator.(3) The flow pattern distributions in the target yield and gas-liquid ratio range in AD oilfield were calculated and designed two kinds of electric pump inlets. By the way, simulation experiment of gas separation efficiency of the two inlets was carried out and the downhole gas-liquid separators' inlets were optimized.(4) The model of Centrifugal-Centrifugal, Centrifugal-vortex, Vortex-Vortex three kinds of series gas-liquid separators CFD were established and optimized vortex-vortex gas-liquid separator, whose vortex gas-liquid separator inducer blade angle and vortex-induced wheel distance were optimized. And then sensitivity analysis about the inlet gas rate and liquid flow rates of series gas-liquid separators were carried out.
