China is currently in the stage of rapid urbanization, thus the domestic construction, demolition, expansion, renovation and other related industries are becoming increasing more active. This correspondingly has generatedhung amount of Construction and Demolition Waste(CDW). Recent research concerning CDW management strategies are almost from the perspectives of economy and technology, and generally focus on the qualitied research, while the quantitative research on environmental impact is limited, which could not sufficiently guide the CDW management practices. This study took demolition wastes as the research objects that generated from housing demolition process expect for soil and muck. Further, study identified the main component, the proportion and the typical disposal methods of demolition wastes. After that, seven significant indicators including global warming, ozone depletion, acidification, eutrophication, dust and so on forth were selected to assesss environmental effects that were subsequently converted to social Willing-to-Pay. After inventorying concret wastes, brick wastes, mortar wastes and metal wastes under the consideration of recycling and landfill disposal, the results of environmental impacts would be unified into by monetary unit. Finally, taking the Shenzhen City as an example, this study assessed environmental impacts of demolition wastes disposal; and five more scenarios were tested to simulate the changes of environmental impacts of one ton demolition waste disposal, total amount demolition waste disposal and land occupation because of landfill. The obtained results show that recycling one ton concret waste, brick waste, mortar waste and metal waste are equivalent to 1.1966 RMB(environmental benefits), 3.1642 RMB(environmental costs), 1.3533 RMB(environmental costs) and 80.6105 RMB(environmental benefits) respectively, while the landfilling one ton demolition wastes could cost 12.0504 RMB regarding its environmental impacts. Based on the status quo of Shenzhen City, the environmental impacts of one ton demolition waste disposal is equal to 5.5866 RMB.It is proved that the Life-Cycle Assessment model in this study can evaluate the environmental impacts of demolition wastes disposal, and instrumental for decision-makers by providing key database.
