The cucurbiturils(Q[n]s) are a serious of novel compounds, of which structures contain hydrophobic cavity and carbonyl groups. The solubility of general cucurbiturils is poor, as a result, more and more attention are taken on modified cucurbiturils. The related reports on the hydroxyl substituted cucurbiturils, by Kim group in 2003, changed people's perception of general cucurbiturils. Compared to general cucurbiturils, hydroxycucurbiturils have more advantages: due to the introduction of hydroxyl groups, hydroxycucurbituril synthesize supramolecular compound easily.In solution, polyoxometallates(POMs) are present in anionic state. Besides, the carbonyl groups of Q[n]s are electronegative. As a result, the acting force between Q[n]s and POMs is outer-surface interaction. by this force, cucurbit[n]uril-polyoxometallate-based supramolecular assemblies reserve original nature, and possess new features meanwhile. In addition, we can use metal ions directly coordinate with Q[n]s to build multi-dimensional supramolecular assemblies.Based on previous researches on the Q[n]s-POMs-based supramolecular assemblies, we have synthesized some coordination polymers containing special structures by volatile and hydrothermal method. Besides, We study on the properties of(OH)10Q[5]/[SiW12O40]4–/A+(or AE2+), such as infrared spectra, X-ray powder diffraction, thermal analysis technology and adsorption experiment, and so on. The results show that the resultant crystals have selective adsorption to volatile organic solvents. At the same time, we selected(OH)12Q[6]/[PMo12O41]5- as catalyst to study its effect on the production rate of ethyl acetate synthesis. The results show that the esterification yield can reach to 78%. When is used less than three times, the rate of recovery of catalyst can stay above 80%.
