| Since the gas reservoir in the west of Sichuan is dense and low-permeable, fracturing becomes a crucial measure of enhancing the oil yield. The liquid storage tank is one of the most vital tools during fracturing. With the reservoirs weakening and the improving performance of fracturing equipment, nowadays, the engineering scale is continuously going large. Thus, the required amount of liquid storage tank is largely rising. However, the steel tank is bulky, heavy, expensive, non-foldable, and can be transported only one by a truck. The cost is accordingly high when large amount of tank is needed in a project.Focusing on the problems above, this paper develops the structure of collapsible soft tank with frame by strength calculation. According to the existing domestic and abroad researches on the frame liquid storage tank, the potential weakness of the collapsible soft tank is located in this paper. Moreover, the structure optimization of the soft tank and the lifting net are designed by finite-element modelling in ANSYS respectively, and validated by the experimental results.As an alternative of the steel tank, the soft tank is collapsible, relatively small and light. Also, it costs less in terms of purchase and transportation. The designed collapsible tank is 1.62 meters high and weighs 3.7 tons after being folded. Comparing to the steel tank with the same volume capacity, the flexible tank decreases weight by 65%, land occupy by 44%, transportation cost by 75%,37,000 CNY manufacture cost per tank, respectively. Therefore, the total cost in the project of oil gas development can be dramatically decreased. Based on the developed soft tank, the large-volume soft tank is further researched in order to store liquid during shale gas well exploration. This paper develops a new technique which facilitates the storage and recycling of the fracturing fluid. |
